Rapunzel illustrated by Paul O. Zelinsky
OH THIS IS THE BROTHER’S GRIMM VERSION!
FUN FACT: Towers traditionally represented virginity. So when the Prince “climbs Rapunzel’s Tower” that is totally a metaphor. When she winds up pregnant, Mother Gothel is furious. She cuts Rapunzel’s hair to trick him and pushes the prince into a bunch of thorns which blind him. In the last panel he’s not walking away sad and crying, he’s walking away BLIND. As Rapunzel’s hair has been cut and she is pregnant, she is no longer of any use to Mother Gothel. She is banished to the wilderness where, years later, the blind prince literally accidentally stumbles upon her and her child. They have another child and survive together in banishment and handicap ever after.
Rapunzel: The original “Teen Mom”
I thought Rapunzel’s tears cured his blindness and they went back to his kingdom.
I thought she had twins too but I can’t remember
i wish i was a mermaid so i could have a nice shiny tail and a pretty seashell bra and a beautiful voice that i could use to entice cute boys and make them crash their ships and drown at sea so human women could rise as the dominate gender of the land
shout out to girls with harsh voices and boys with fat thighs and to people who dont like a tv show but will still watch it with a good attitude if their friend wants to watch it and shout out to people who only rarely talk to their pets in baby voices and also to people who laugh at their own jokes and people who draw angry eyebrows on billboards i love you all
